 On March 2, 2017, six grant contracts for the implementation of the Grass-Roots Human Security Projects were signed at the Embassy of Japan in Chisinau as follows:
 
  1. “The Project for Modernization of Medical Equipment in Briceni District Hospital”;
  2. “The Project for Modernization of Medical Equipment in Laboratory of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of State University of Medicine and Pharmacy”;
  3. “The Project for Modernization of Medical Equipment in Institute of Cardiology”;
  4. “The Project for Modernization of Medical Equipment in Municipal Clinical Hospital “Sfantul Arhanghel Mihail”;
  5. “The Project for Renovation of Heating System at lyceum of Congaz Village in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia”;
  6. “The Project for Extension of Sewage System in Ghidighici Village”.
     
In the framework of these projects, approximately USD 328,000 were disbursed to the four abovementioned medical institutions in order to improve the medical facilities in Moldova. Also, approximately 73,500 USD were granted to the lyceum in Gagauzia for the improvement of its educational environment, while 42,900 USD were allocated to the Ghidighici Village in order to enhance its sanitary infrastructure.
It is expected that the implementation of these projects will contribute to the overall improvement of living standards in Moldova.
