Signing Ceremony for the Grant Aid Project for Strengthening the Medical System

On 17th August, H.E. KATAYAMA Yoshihiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova and H.E.Nicolae POPESCU, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration signed an agreement on the Grant Aid Project for Strengthening the Medical System (total amount of 1 billion yen) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova.
This project aims to improve the medical services necessary for Ukrainian refugees and improve the standard of living of Moldovan citizens by providing medical equipment to five medical institutions in the capital, which accept Ukrainian refugees.
At the signing ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Popescu, thanked Japan for its support over the past 30 years since Moldova’s independence, and said that this support would lead to further strengthening bilateral relations between our countries.
Ambassador Katayama expressed his hope that the medical equipment provided through this programme will be utilized at the maximum, mentioning that he respects the generous efforts of the Moldovan government and the Moldovan people to receive a number of the Ukrainian refugees.
